ABOUT HPN
 The
Home Protection Network came about out of necessity...
Steve Gladstone experienced a respiratory inflammation that he thought
was the result of breathing in some fiberglass insulation. Sitting in
the emergency room he wondered if the attending physicians would have
him out of the emergency room in time to get to his afternoon inspection.
The stupidity of the whole notion of being ill, and trying to still go
on an inspection was not obvious to him then. He left the hospital, and
did the job with a raspy voice and a headache. The implications of the
concept of cooperatively sharing sick coverage and vacation time, grew
from the experience.
He met with several other home inspectors in a hotel room
in Hartford at an ASHI Chapter Seminar. Steve invited a handful of inspectors
to participate in what was then HomePro of Connecticut. Though many said
they would think about it, only a couple were convinced of the program's
possibilities. Steve Gladstone, John Olive, and Andy Kasznay decided to
develop the program.
Over the years some of the names and companies have changed but the concept
of sharing services to cover for each other and keep costs down has proven
to be a winner. John has left the inspection business, but Andy & Steve
continue the Home Protection Network. It has grown to 12 inspectors and
6 companies.
